Hypnosis
Change your Mind & Change Your Life!
Hypnosis allows you to change your mind--the part of your mind that really calls the shots. When you change your mind, your life changes! Hypnotic trance gives you access to your subconscious mind--the 99% of your mind below your level of conscious awareness. If your mind could be compared to an iceberg, 99% of your mind is below the surface.
Under the surface, your deeper, subconscious mind is constantly regulating all your pulse, respiration, all systems of your body, automatically. It contains all your childhood programming, core beliefs about yourself and what is possible in your life. You could say that the subconscious mind (SCM) is where you really reside.
Your conscious mind (CM), the part that you use everyday, functions as a gatekeeper, a critical judge. It rationalizes, analyzes, evaluates, and solves problems for you--but according to the dictates of the subconscious mind.
The subconscious mind (SCM) is emotional and sees the big picture. The CM can only see parts of the picture, not the whole. It's like a flashlight in an attic--the flashlight can illuminate only one thing at a time, but the attic is full of stuff, and the flashlight can't penetrate into the boxes where things are stored.
| In hypnotic trance we can establish direct communication with the SCM which holds our deepest beliefs about ourselves. We silence the judgmental critical faculty of the CM and can acquire new insights and behaviors. If the human mind is compared to a computer, hypnosis is simply a way a reprogramming the computer in a desired way. In hypnotic trance new ideas may be put forth as suggestions without resistance from the CM. We can overcome our childhood programming. READ MORE |
That's where a person can run into trouble. He or she can consciously decide to lose weight or stop smoking or stop being afraid of flying, for example. Rationally this makes sense, and he/she can even have good insight into why we are overweight. But the reasons our conscious mind gives you, how it rationalizes, is usually not correct. And buried in your SCM is the deepest conviction that you can't quit or that whenever you're upset, the way to soothe yourself is with food.
You can repeat an affirmation such as "I am losing weight rapidly" or "I will never smoke again" or "I am no longer afraid of flying" and find your conscious mind rejecting the idea. It analyzed the statement and determined that it doesn't fit with the identity programmed within you as a child--your concept of who you are and what you can do.
When there is dissonance or lack of agreement between conscious (logical, analytical) and subconscious (emotional) minds, a new idea is rejected. Hypnotherapy can restore harmony between CM and SCM.
Every experience you ever had, every emotion you ever felt, is stored in your SCM, but your CM can't see what it is or get at it. In hypnotic trance, you will enter the realm of your SCM and make powerful changes for the better in an effortless, natural easy way. No longer do you need to be at the mercy of your earlier programming.
During the trance state I will help you program in exciting and compelling new images and experiences of success in your SCM feeling mind. Old ideas that no longer are working for you can dissolve or fall away.
Everyday We're in a Trance
Have you ever felt like you were walking around in a trance, a trance that is not always under your direct control? Certainly everyone has had the experience of trance. Have you ever been at a party, so absorbed in a conversation you wer having that you were able to screen out every other conversation in the room, until someone on the other side of the room mention your name and you perked up your ears? The SCM was monitoring every word going on in that room and alerted the CM when your name came up.
Television is one big, often scarey trance that can raise our adrenalin level. There is a "cute puppy" trance or a "baby" trance we easily get into. There is the trance of rhythmic music that impels our body to move.
Many of the deep trance phenomemon are present in real life. For example you experience amnesia when you forget somebody's name. Amnesia is a deep trance phenomenon. Or you can be looking for your car keys and unable to find them, only to discover that they were right there in front of you. This is an example of negative allucination, another deep trance phenomenon.
You can lose awareness of present time while driving and be oriented to the future: visualizing asking the boss for a raise and hallucinating his voice responding to your request. Or getting lost in the past, thinking of what you should have told the clerk who was rude to you in the store. When you get to your destination, you realize that you spaced out all the memories of getting there because you were preoccupied with past or future scenes you were playing in your head.
The difference between Everyday Trance and Hypnotic Trance
Trance is fixation of attention. , and trance in hypnotherapy is deliberate fixation of your attention for a therapeutic purpose. It's moving away from the automatic programming and through a purposeful focusing and concentration of attention on an particular subject the critical judgmental mind is able to be bypassed and you can more effortlessly and easily attain desired goals. The hypnotist is your experienced guide chosen for your journey of exploration and transformation.
Some authors even believe that therapeutic trance is a a process of dehypnotizing or emerging from the every day dysfunctional trance we walk around in--influenced by posthypnotic suggestions from past moments of extreme emotion, suggestions that, for example, we'll never be good at math or dancing. In trance you can actually reexperience that initial experience and have a future self tell the younger self that he or she is quite capable of learning to do whatever he or she wants.
